You want to know that your time is actively changing lives, lifting heavy burdens, and connecting families to a lasting spiritual home.
But when you look at the massive need in Dallas County, it is easy to feel overwhelmed.
Right now, the back-to-school season is placing a heavy, stressful financial burden on local families.
But when you step onto our line, you join an extended family of believers doing the heavy lifting together.
Just look at the miraculous, multiplied impact our partners achieved this month!
A massive thank you to Covenant Church for fully funding and packing 300 elementary backpacks filled with basic school supplies! These will be given out on Saturday, August 1st—which also beautifully coincides with Carol and Rick’s 51st wedding anniversary! Praise the Lord!
We actively expanded our community outreach by packing 35 goodie bags (filled with i58 info, notepads, pens, mints, and snacks) for the Early High School Staff at Brookhaven College. We also packed 30 bags for the Atlas Point retirement home in preparation for our upcoming speaking engagement with their women’s group on September 28th.
With the help of 65 volunteers from 14 different churches and organizations, we were able to give 45,303 pounds of food to 401 families!
Volunteer Spotlight
If you’ve driven through our distribution line recently, chances are you’ve seen the friendly face of Eli Sanchez or April Sanchez!
Eli originally connected with i58 through a community partnership representing Humana, providing Medicare and dental resources to our families. But after seeing the heart of our ministry in action, he and his wife, April, knew they wanted to do so much more than just hand out paperwork.
“After seeing firsthand the impact this ministry has on people’s lives, I felt called to do more,” Eli says. “Serving alongside the i58 team has given me a deeper appreciation for what it truly means to love and serve others.”
Since stepping up to serve, Eli and April have jumped in wherever there’s a need! From organizing and packing distribution boxes behind the scenes to making sure every family gets a smile (and a goody bag!) at the drive-thru. Last month, Eli even put together a drawing for a brand-new griddle!
Thank you, Eli and April, for your incredible hearts, your faithful service, and for being such a bright lighthouse in our community! We are so blessed to have you in the i58 family.
